Ye Old Newbie
I read a few posts about the proposed new taxes in the pipeline spearheaded by the American Cancer Society. Needless to say I didn't like what I read.
I received this e-mail this morning...
Gary,
This Mother's Day, we invite you to honor and remember all the special women in your life by giving a donation to your American Cancer Society. When you make your gift, we will send the person you honor or a designated recipient an embossed personalized card, notifying them of your thoughtful contribution.
Each Mother's Day is a time to celebrate someone special who has touched your life.
As we save lives from cancer, what we are really doing is giving mothers and their loved ones more of their most precious commodity: time. More time with their family and friends and more milestones – like more Mother's Days and more birthdays. At the American Cancer Society, we're working to create a world with more birthdays – and less cancer – for everyone.
Instead of buying flowers or candy this Mother's Day, you can help us save lives and create a future with more birthdays and more Mother's Days – there is no better gift.
Together, we are saving lives every day by helping you stay well, helping you get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against a disease that has taken too much!
This Mother's Day, give hope for a future where cancer never steals another year from anyone's life – and we'll send the card to Mom.
Donate Now
I found it less than funny they didn't reveal their new agenda to lobby for an increase in taxes for tobacco products. While I have lost many loved ones to this killer disease, I find myself conflicted about this version of their fund raising.
But not really.
