I'm stunned

I'm no stranger to combat, but I'm a stranger to this. I just didn't know. A writer named Michael Yon was plugging the men and women he sees every day over there, and by the way, wrote a book about it that's sort of climbing the best seller ladder. I'm spellbound by this man's blog, and I've ordered the book.

If you didn't already understand why a Marine or Army infantryman is the most dangerous weapon on Earth, you should read this blog. There is a piece - you'll have to go find it - where SEAL snipers go trolling for insurgents, much like the game warden puts out the fake deer to see who will shoot at it.

I started reading his blog while I was there, and I was in awe of the stories that he tells. He is one of the good guys for sure. There is a story about being with a British Inf Squad that was simply super.

We need more press like this, and for more people to read it.
