Long story shortened to just the facts...My suburban was run into and damage occurred along the port side of the vehicle. State Farm assumed liability and we agreed on a body shop which was one of their partners and they said just drop the car off and it would be fixed. So I did. Went to pick it up today, one week later, and the knuckleheads did not repair the damage caused by crash. So very disappointing. They repaired probably 3 times as much as they had to repair. The Suburban is 5 years old and has been relegated to my designated hunting vehicle so there was some existing damage not related to the crash. Have been on the phone with State Farm and am waiting to see what happens next. My bet is they try and make this partially my fault, but I never received a call or an email indicating what was going to be repaired and never signed anything. What a giant inconvenience all because my car was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The repair shop, should be at fault. Do you know if State Farm issued a list of repairs, to the body shop? If so, why did the body shop not follow the estimate? If State Farm told you to drop it off and they never provided the shop any details/estimates, I'd put it on State Farm.

State Farm just called ad said they would repair the damages caused by their insured and they are just trying to contact the manager of body shop to find out how it all happened. He said he looked at the original claim and it was clear to him that their driver had damage on the starboard side and mine was on the port side. Not really sure who decided to repair the rear bumper and liftgate, but someone is going to get a little heat from their supervisor I suppose.

So, in the end, you will wind up with more repaired than the actual claim?
Are they providing a rental? Does the extra work affect your out of pocket?
As much as insurance companies hate to let loose of money, I'd love to be a fly on a few walls for this one.

Just called back, they will fix what they should have in the first place and the extra work is nice to have, issue solved from my end, but I'll bet there is something still going on at the insurance company and the body shop.

Good to hear it is going to be taken care of. It's going to be a rough night for someone there. Mistakes happen, and I hope no one becomes unemployed over it (unless this shop has a recurring issue of such things happening because of this person).

Thanks for all the comments very much appreciated, I will be taking the car back on Monday to have the correct repairs completed. Also, funny story, went out to go to the office this morning and the front tire was flat like the Earth in the dark ages, just seems like one thing after the other.

Glad to hear State Farm took it on themselves in the end. I have been with them for 20 years and can say in the last 3 or so years their customer service has gone out the window. A 5 year old uses more logic and has more common sense than the 3rd party contractors that they use for various claims.
