Anyone in here own a iPod Nano? I am having problems transfering the tunes from iTunes onto my iPod. I am using a VAIO laptop with Windows and keep getting error messages relating to default audio types and access priveleges. The tunes download into iTunes but they are not trasnferred from iTunes onto my iPod

Anyone have these sort of problems? If so, any suggestions how to remedy them?

thanks,

I personally would get Anapod Explorer if i had an Ipod. The problem with em is you can put music on but there’s no way to ever get it off. Anapod Explorer has a sweet easy to use interface for all Ipods and doesn’t stick you with just having to use Itunes.

tis a sad day when one has to use secondary software to access what they already own.

Ditto on the Anapod, lost my hard drive and was able to download all the music on my iPod back onto the new hard drive. Great program, like he said it's a shame Apple doesn't have the software included and you have to use third party software.

Good call on Anapod, I've been using it for a while now.

have 2 and use the itunes headache but will look into anapod soon. I use 3rd party software that backs up the entire content of the ipod to the drive for later restore and then my son and I share the music from that drive

BUT

to address your issue. We both recall having te same issues you are having. We seem to remember that you can see your music and play it in itunes but its like it will not drag to the ipod. The solution was : Import cd, then drag and drop everything to the LIBRARY in itunes. Then you can drag anything you want from the library to the ipod.

hope that helps.

hmm... maybe I will give the iPod a shot now. My wife and kids have 'em, but I hate the iTunes interface. I have a Lyra MP3 player that I can just use MS Explorer to drag and drop whatever music I want to listen to. And it never erases my music because I plugged it into somebody else's computer.

The problem seems to be that the USB port is not being recognized by the software. I tried using Anapod and when I launched the program it could not find the iPod device even though it was connected in the USP port on my laptop.

BTW - I tried all four USB ports and the results were the same

Any ideas how to fix this?

Take it to an Apple Store or call, they are really really good with all their customers, usually replacing broken iPods, laptops, etc without asking questions. Nanos especially, from what I've heard, because of that whole scratch lawsuit...
