Enjoy
Doc.

If I had money
I tell you what I'd do
I would go downtown
Buy a Mercury or two
Cause I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
Cruise up and down this road
Up and down this road
I'm goin' to buy me a Mercury
And I'll cruise up and down this road
Up and down this road

You know that gal I love
I stole her from a friend
Fool got lucky stole her back again
Because she knowed he had a Mercury
Cruise up and down this road
Up and down this road
Well, she knowed he had a Mercury
And she cruise up and down this road

Hey now mama
Where'd you stay last night
Your hair's all down
Your clothes don't fit you right
If I had money
I tell you what I'd do
Go downtown and buy a Mercury or two
Cause I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
And I'll cruise up and down this road
Up and down this road

I'm going to buy me a Mercury
And I'll cruise up and down this road
Up and down this road

I'm going to buy me a Mercury
Going to buy me a Mercury
Going to buy me a Mercury
Cruise, cruise up and down this road
Up and down this road

I'm going to buy me a Mercury
Buy me a Mercury
Going to buy me a Mercury
Cruise, cruise up and down this road
Up and down this road

....funny thing, AVB; that was the first thing that flashed across my mind after reading Doc's post..!!..

Edited to add - David Lindley's version was probably my favorite, though this classic has been covered by a bunch of folks.

I loved the look of hammered, chopped, and flamed mercs of the late 40's and early 50's! I know it sounds like blasphemy to do that to a classic, but that's the style that drew me in, especially the one Stallone drove in the movie Cobra.

Long live a classic car!

They definitely made some beautiful cars back in the day. I even saw a recent iteration that caught my eye, not sure what it was but it looked like a classier version of the new Taurus (is that an oxymoron?). Too bad, but I understand their reasoning behind the decision.
