Febuary 2nd or 3rd, depending on the specific store, Binny's will engrave your bottle for nada. Go to their website and click on "events". From what i've read the Blue is superior to the other Johnny Walker blends. Sounds interesting. Whadda ya think AVB? :D

Is their in store price on Blue Label really $199? That's out of control, about $40 more than you should be able to find it elsewhere.

I don't think they'll do my open bottle but it is good stuff. A little high at $200 a bottle it can be found for less but not with the etching. You can read my review from 2004 here.

A liquor store nearby was closing down and last Saturday evening 30 minutes before its final close I walked in and saw, behind the cash register 4 bottles of JW Blue. I asked how much and he said that he was selling it for $175 per bottle but he really wanted to get rid of it so he asked me how much I would buy all four for. I told him $300 and his eyes almost popped out of his head. We eventually (literally 1 minute before closing) settled on $350 for the lot. Wasn't I the lucky sort?!

I pride myself at finding great prices but that is one hell of a deal. I was happy when I got my Blue for about $120 delivered a few years ago. LMK if you find any more

That's a really good price you got for the Blue. As for me, fortunately, I was in the right place at the right time.

By the way, have you ever made a trip to Michters distillery? I remember visiting years ago with David Beam. We were looking at an old pot still. They ended up taking it off Michter's hands for a song some years later. He now has it in a shed behind his Old Kentucky Home motel. Now this pot still was built in '76-'77 timeframe I believe. It was to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of Michter's, if I'm not mistaken. This was a bit ago, so my dates - and memory ;) - could be off a bit.

I haven't been up that way on purpose although I really should go take a look since it's only about 65-70 miles away.
