i know cigar prices are up, but now it's a surcharge for the gasoline price upsurge. anyone see this anywhere else? :angry2:

I think this is pretty much happening across the board really. I know FedEx is takin ga lot of steps to reduce price like putting a charge on if you want to request a signature (multiple trips to home) and the such.

It is happening in nearly all industry. In-Laws just got a bunch of letters the other day from various suppliers about prices going up as of the first of October. Carpet, roofing, concrete, lumber you name it. If it gets transported the cost will eventually have an impact on the final price.

Yes, sack. I paid an additional 5% for shipping on my recent order to JR Cigars. I believe that Joe Cigar is still offering FREE UPS ground shipping. Generally speaking, I guess that higher shipping costs are a fact of life with the increased fuel costs. Regards, knightlaird

You're lucky it's only 5%...I'll bet Lew's taking a beating on shipping...I know I am.
I don't get hit too bad with outgoing shippment, it's the incoming one's that are causing my the most trouble.

i called jr and he operator said 12.5% for ups 2nd day and overnight, wtf! :angry2:

Don't they only charge $2 per item anyway? Considering the cost of gas and tolls and basic road maintenance with the recent string of disasters, I'm surprised most places are still fairly cheap realativly speaking.
