Experian has been moving to monopolize the data it stockpiles for years. Fair Isaac has had a monoply on credit scoring for years. This is not the first score consumers have not been able to get. FICO has several scores that they don't sell. One being the auto industry FICO. But overal they have about 12 scoring models specific to the needs of the lender. In my mind Experian has always been the least friendly of the data storage industry.

Almost all of the auto lending banks and captive finance sources here in the south use Equifax. The only time we use Experian, is if we detect an issue with the Equifax reporting.
