Question for AVB, have you ever had Loch Dhu 10 yo Black Whisky Single Malt Scotch? What did you think? I had Loch Dhu at a tasting many years ago and live in constant regret for not stocking up on it. I was a beginner than so I don't remember much about the taste but I do remember it was the smoothest whiskey I had encountered at the time. Let the hunt begin.

Do a Google search on it. There are a lot of hits. Many reviews (most of them unfavorable). It was distilled at Mannochmore Distillery. It is no longer made by my understanding. It is available, but I think only in the UK. Prices I have seen are upwards of $150 a bottle. My own experience with this dram was not favorable either. I thought it tasted a bit like a mixture of burnt wood and creosote. Of course, that was years ago and I might like that flavor on occasion these days. :whistling:

Good luck with your search.

I've had it, and I don't have it nor am I looking for one. That should tell you something. There was a reason they went belly up and this was probably it.

Elric,
The Bellagio in Las Vegas stocks this whisky in case you are ever there for a visit. I found it at the Fontana Video Poker Bar.

I have seen this referred to more than once as "Loch Don't"...

Edit to add that I've never actually tried it, so I have no firsthand knowledge of the whisky. I just got a kick out of the reviews I saw and wanted to share.
