A number of years ago, I had a client in Las Vegas who had me do the technology management to interconnect a casino he owned (The Golden Gate) and another one he just bought (The Fitzgerald...which is now The D). One night after dinner, the casino owner and I were having a few drinks and he told me about an incident that occurred a number of years earlier with Clayton Moore, the guy who played The Lone Ranger.

It seems Clayton Moore never appeared in public without his full Lone Ranger regalia and he came to do a show/speech at The golden Gate. After the show, one of the drivers was taking Clayton to his hotel when they were in a minor accident and the driver was in a heated conversation with the two men in the other car. The two men became confrontational and were about to become physical when "The Lone Ranger" steps out of the back seat of the car and approaches the three of them and says "is there a problem here citizen"? The two guys eyes bugged out and they took off running, leaving their car behind.

I have heard this type of thing happened to him more than once and he always played the part of The Lone Ranger in every incident.
