Looks like summer is unofficially here.

I spent last Saturday getting the swamp cooler ready; cleaned the filters, checked the belts, oiled the bearings and installed a new pump and we're good to go! As long as we maintain our single to low teen humidity levels the swamp cooler will keep the house at about 75 degrees inside even when it hits 110 outside.

From the NWS

A strong high pressure system will build in over California this
weekend. Temperatures in the Sierra foothills... the San Joaquin
Valley... and the deserts of Kern County
(that's me) will reach triple
digits... especially Sunday... which will be the warmest day of the
period. There will be near record high temperatures of 100 to 106
in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley and the adjacent
foothills. The Kern County deserts are likely to be a couple of
degrees warmer than the San Joaquin Valley. Temperatures Monday
will be a few degrees cooler... but will still range from the mid
90s to around 104 in the warmest locations."

I feel ya! 106 today and 107 tomorrow. My Avanti conversion was the best thing I did for my smokes while living in the desert.

Vegas too baby! It looks like our 3 weeks of spring is over, summer is here. Time to figure out where in the house to keep the humi's cool.
