I chat on various message boards having to do with home theater & sports, in addition to this cigar board. It seems that here, unique to all the other boards I chat on, when I take a discussion in a different direction, people make comments that lead me to believe they do not like that. Is there a list of rules or are there some unwritten rules that I should know about?

I am feeling a bit lost in some of these threads.

Nope, no rules that I know of other than to try and be polite. :)

Carry on feller.

Yep, your first amendment rights prevail, unless your talking the dreaded "L" Cigar LMAO :D :D :D

If you feel it necessary to take a discussion in a different direction, maybe you should just start a new thread. Then if someone is interested in that new topic, they can post about it there. ???

Hopefully that helps out, without you taking too much offense by it.

Since I've been on, I've gotten into a few mishaps... But all in all, nothing that got me blackballed from anything 'that I know of'. I think we all give as good as we get, but I think the main thing is to not take things personally, because it makes for bad blood. I don't 'think' anyone on here does things out of spite, so there's no need to take it to heart. Just shrug your shoulder, light up a cigar and knock back some liquor. You'll feel better, I garooontee it. And if not, pack up the humi and ship it to the address listed in my profile :p

Everybody's got opinions, and it's pretty nice that we can express them. Just think if you were in China. Not only could you NOT read what was written (because of the symbol writing, and most Americans can't read it...Yes, smartass remark), but you'd be shot or dragged away for trying to express said opinion.

Didn't mean to be so long winded, but I just don't want to see good members feel all left out, or that they did something wrong by disagreeing with someone else

HEY!!! Who told McP about the code?!?!?!

The one unwritten rule is that you must send me one of each cigar you sample on a monthly basis. If you are a heavy smoker it may be wise to get a second job to help with the postage. :D

Lot's of years of practice Leebo....you are just at the crest of the hill, I am at the top. LMAO :sign: :sign: :sign: :sign: :sign:

oops...time for editing...hell you guys knwo what I mean!! LMAO Oh and Rod's right, my hill IS taller..along with other things.. LMAO

Matt, when I grow up I want to be just like you!

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

On a serious note, you are correct as I see the numerous mooch attempts here and on other boards! The list is long and distinguished!

Damn thread jackers.....how'd Matt turn this into a mooch? ROFLMAO :sign:

I have to admit, IMHO, you hit the nail on the head when you said "when I take a conversation in a different direction". I don't have any objections to people posting whatever they have to say . I will be the first one to stand up and be counted on that issue. I personally believe that if you want to go in a different direction you should start your own post. Just my 4 cents........

PS - send 5 cigar samplers to me monthly and I'll keep my opinions to myself! ;)

OK, so what I might call "taking a conversation in a different direction" many of you may refer to as "threadjacking"? I am starting to get the hang of this.
