Michigan Tobacco Tax Going Up

Granholm has called for doubling the state tax on loose tobacco, cigars and snuff to help balance next year's state budget.

I didn't vote for her!

On the last page is says the tax is going from a maximum 4.875 cents to a maximum of 40 cents per stick. (8x increase or $8.75 per box)

Granted that sucks, but considering the cigarette taxes, I expected it to be much worse.
