Seeing as how it’s about 34F outside, I thought I’d grab something really quick to smoke. I picked up several of the Montecristo Joyitas from Wilkey in his coolidor reduction sale not long ago. These were from 2004 and perfect for a cold winter’s night. These are well constructed little smokes with a chocolate brown wrapper that seems to have lots of oils. I punched the tiny cap with the small ring on my Swiss Army punch knife and unfortunately the draw was extremely tight. I grabbed up the Palio and cut the cap clean and still got a tight draw, however there was some air coming through.

Upon lighting, even though the draw was tight I still got a decent amount of smoke from this little stogie. There was actual a good bit of power in the smoke with a nice pepper spice on the throat. There was that nice Montecristo twang of citrus zest with nice wood notes and leather. The finish was really nice as well with a lasting aftertaste of good tobacco. Towards the end the draw completely closed up, and I could get no more smoke out at all. For a quick twenty minute smoke, it was very satisfying in flavor.

Great little smokes, if you can find one with a decent draw. I've been through a few boxes of these and the draw always seems to be a problem. Thanks for another fine review!
