The wife and I will be out to Montreal in October for some conference she's attending (free trip!), so while she's busy conferencing (or whatever they do) I'll be looking to entertain myself around the city. Has anyone here been there before? Or do we have any (active) members from out that way? I'm looking for recommendations on any good cigar bars or cigar freindly restaurants. Or shops that have lounges or places to hang out and enjoy a smoke. Is there anything else (not cigar related) that we just have to do while there? We'll be there for 4 or 5 days, so we've got plenty of time that needs to be filled.

Feel free to post comments or pm me with any suggestions! Thanks a bunch!

The last time I was there was ten years ago, used to drive up from CT for weekends.
I remember there were a lot of cool bars and clubs in the city
Dance clubs for the youngsters, Jazz clubs in the old section of the city for all
I had a good time whenever I went there. I would even go in the winter. That place gave cold a new meaning for me

Its been a while, but as I remember, the La Casa del Habana had a lounge where you could hang out and smoke. That's about the extent of my knowledge of cigar-related places. Didn't need another one.

It has been too many years since I've been to Montreal (Roger Doucet was still singing the anthems at the Forum). I've done a trade or two with a certain Pierre who goes by the name of "aficionado99" over at CW. He's my age but he has a son in his 20s. PM him and between the two of them you should be able to get the info you're looking for.
