I’m bored, so I’m going to ramble. Early on in my excitement over the hobby, I found that I was hitting CP several times a day, marveling over just about every cigar review, every humidor comment, and dropping a line in just about every thread. I couldn't help it. My post count shot up to 900 in just over 4 months, then quietly went over 1000 last month. Funny thing is, I no longer see it as a badge of honor. I seldom post any more without something of merit to say and I apologize for posting so much crap.

I think I understand post padding for what it really is – noise. It makes it harder to cull out something to take away. Rod, I’d prefer you turn that news dragnet off. Most of what if finds is the old boot and the license plate. I find that, for the most part, I’m scanning through the post topics and only bothering to open a few. I should be welcoming new members, but for the most part, I don’t. I have a whole litany of excuses why not, but it doesn’t matter. Most of them will never get past 10 posts with or without me. I did get a big kick out of the trauma surgeon (right, uh-huh) and won’t miss him.

Finding value in a post is just as subjective as what you like in a cigar. Thanks, Doc for the history and for being an old shit, Wilkey for the reviews, Moki for vitolas.net (Coppermine, right?) because the technical merits are music to an engineer, AVB for being the other old shit, so many others for just being friends. Those not high on my list of friends on line are at the top of my list of those I’d like to HERF with. I’m sure I’m missing something.

Much of what is expressed about cigars is subjective - opinion. I read all the reviews and quietly add many of them to my “someday” list. I still find that I’m likely to enjoy a $2 cigar as much as any other. I've noticed times when I do dip into my high end NCs when I just don't want a bundled stick. Sure, there are technical differences that are easy to spot, construction, draw, and burn. However, I still haven’t developed and even remotely sophisticated palate. Many have gifted me with Cuban cigars, mostly those here on CP, and I’ve done GBs on others. And I've smoked them. I still can't compare them well against even low end NCs, but that’s ok. I look at it this way: either my palate improves and I get to savor cigars even more, or it doesn’t and I get continue to enjoy cheap cigars.

Looks like the same ol' thing to me there Nully. What are you doing different again? Musta been my bad ear.
