I have a new MP3 player.

Now I have a cple cd's that are mix cd's (multitrack mix).

Does anyone know how to convert these mix cd's so that the multitracks are converted to only 1 large track? Or know of any programs that do this (frrebies of course)

I want to make it one track so I can put it on my MP3 player. I usually listen to my MP3 in shuffle mode. And If I put the cd mix as multitracks the mix will be broken up when in shuffle mode.

Thanks.

Use a program to copy to you computer as a .wav file.
Then convert that file to an MP3 format.

alexgtp - itunes for PC is a free download from Apple, and will enable you to do this. When you are ripping your own CD, in the preferences you can choose the format to burn into (MP3, Apple Lossless, etc) and also the compression, etc. There is also an option in the preferences to import something as a complete album. When I get home tonight I can check the preferences and find the exact option for you. I have done it, so I know it can be done.

I tend to record things first as a .wav file using Soundfordge.
Then I turn that into an MP3.

I find I have more control over the process doing this.
