I know this is the wrong forum. But I wanted to dedicate this as my first review and see what people think of my abilities as a Newbie reviewer..
This smoke came to me from JHawk in a Newbie Sampler Trade. Thanks Jon for the great smoke!!

My rating: 88 If the burn had been better, it would have been a low 90's smoke.
Deep Brown wrapper with mainly fine veins and one larger vein that runs the length of the wrapper. The cigar is firm but still slightly spongy when pinched. An oily hue covers the entire cigar. The construction appears to be perfect, although I will find out later that this cigar is in need of a smoker who can look beyond burn problems and doesn't mind a little maintenance. The nose of the foot smells of tobacco, vanilla, and what I felt smelled like cherries. The nose of the wrapper was very sweet and contained strong scents of vanilla.
I made my cut using my Xikar scissors. The pre-light draw was earthy and had that barn air taste of hay and dirt. I toasted the foot lightly and lit the cigar. The first puff was full of dense smoke. The draw was easy and full. Lots of tobacco flavor with a hint of black pepper bite were the very first things I noticed. The bite wasn't overwhelming, but distinct.. This was immediately noticeable as a very full bodied cigar. I've read other reviews of this cigar in preparation for smoking, so I was ready. I had eaten a big hearty meal and had a tall glass of Texas Sweet Tea, only second in sweetness to Alabama Sweet Tea which should instead be called Alabama Simple Syrup and Tea Flavoring.
The first 10 minutes were pronounced with black pepper, but this began to slowly give way to leather and cedar woody notes. I also noticed my first of many uneven burns beginning to form.
After 25 minutes, I'd already made 2 minor fixes to the burn on this cigar. The construction is really starting to show its true colors and the wrapper pulls off the body in several places. This is still minor at this point, but the cigar is definitely starting to look a little odd shaped. 5 more minutes in and the flavors of this cigar are really starting to come in. Lots of leather are noted with subtle woody hints. The black pepper never quite went away but is very subtle and enjoyable.
After 40 minutes the cigar is really spongy to the touch. It almost feels like a soft tomato. This is nice though, because the cap of the cigar is also very soft and is very nice to smoke. It feels very comfortable in your mouth and you can grip it in your teeth without fear of tearing the wrapper. The leather and wood are still very strong and the black pepper seems to be fading at this point to almost non-existent. The burn at this point is terrible and its time to ash. I've now fixed the cigars burn 3 times and its shaped like a dogleg on The Tour, yup, like a golf hole.
After 50 minutes the spice is really starting to come back strong. My tongue is tingling a bit and its really soft and starting to get warm. This smoke is starting to throw some punches and is getting stronger by the minute.. however, its still not as strong as I was anticipating after having read some other reviews. I'm really digging this cigar at this point. Its character shows through and lets you know that " I am a bad Mother F'er of a smoke."
One hour into the smoke and this sucker is SPICY. Very strong black pepper is starting to take over the leather and wood. Tobacco flavors have come full circle again and really hitting home. I picked up my pace at this point, because I really was in the mood for a smoke that kicked my dick in the dirt. (pardon my French, its what I wanted.)
After another 10 minutes this is ALL SPICE. I've got another runner going in the smoke and I'm forced to fix it again for the fourth time. The smoke is hot and the cigar is hot too. I'm really smoking this guy now, but I'm feeling a little let down from the other reviews I'd read. They mentioned the fact that they had gotten queasy and had to slow their smoking down. Maybe I'm just a bad mother of a smoker, but I'm just not feeling the power that others have mentioned. The opus x Fuente Fuente I smoked last week had more cojones than this smoke.
Here it is, an hour and twenty minutes in and this sucker is HOT HOT HOT.. My lips and the tip of my tongue are burning like I’d just eaten a jalapeno pepper. We're all heat and spice now and the enjoyment of the cigar is fading quickly. I set the smoke down at this point, not wanting to ruin my impression of the cigar.
All in all, this was a great smoke. The construction was definitely lacking. I didn't notice a whole lot in the complexity department. It started of a bit spicy, moved into leather and wood, and finished up spicy again. This was a great cigar. It was fun to smoke, fun to review, and fun to type up my thoughts from my 3x5 card that I took with me. I would smoke this cigar again, any day, but its not my favorite smoke.
Today I smoked a Padron 1926 #1, an Oliva Special S Torpedo, and this smoke here. I still go back to my Oliva as the best smoke I've had yet. I should have reviewed the 1926 as well, just because of how famous it is. But I was a bit let down by it.
I hope you enjoyed my review and you can find my pictures of the review below..
