So for Spring Break this year, we decided to head to good 'ole Sin City for a bit of gambling and fun. Me and my better half, plus two of our friends, spent the week there at the low budget yet comfortable Excalibur. Not the grandest casino on the strip, but we ended up being very comfortable there and spent a lot of our time in or around it. On our next trip back, and god do I hope it's soon, we think we'll either stay at the Venetian or the Luxor. Anyway, we did some sight seeing while we were there, saw the majority of the casinos and even caught a show. I'll say right now that if anyone is planning a trip to Vegas, you absolutely have to go see Phantom at the Venetian. The stage, costumes, and performance were really spectacular. Unfortunately it was my first Phantom of the Opera show, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it must surely stand up there with the Broadway and London show.

In any case, I was told we had to stop by the Forum Shops to go window shopping. I readily agreed, remembering that some on here mentioned I should definitely stop by Casa Fuente while I was in town. I walked in and there was a gentleman and the younger guy who worked there, puffing on cigars and chatting about the same. I nosed around a little bit but was clearly out of my depth there, not really knowing where to start. I had remembered the one Fuente cigar line that was only sold in Vegas, so I inquired about that and asked for a little help from there. The gentleman who was there spoke up first and directed me to a AF Hemingway, saying that he guaranteed that I would like it. I have yet to partake of that one, but we shall see, possibly tomorrow. He also mentioned a smaller cigar, whose name I can't remember at the moment, but it was made of two different wrappers and was, to this date, the best cigar I've ever smoked. If any of you have any idea what that cigar might have been, please let me know, as I'd like to order my first box full. I also picked up the Vegas only cigar and smoked it that night, but it was plagued with burn issues as I couldn't keep it lit. I wonder if keeping those cigars directly under the humidifier is a good idea? Anyway, my last and final pick was an Opus X Fuente Fuente. And I'm heartbroken to say it... but the cigar did not make the return trip unscathed. I had it stored in a travel humidor, inside the plastic bag provided by Casa Fuente, inside my suitcase. Apparently it was somehow squished during the trip, it being longer than the travel humidor it was stored in, and it is now severely shorter than it previously had been. :(

Other than that, it was a great trip and I can't wait to go back.

Edit- After browsing around online, I believe the barber pole cigar is called Fuente's "Between the Lines".

Yes, turns out that's the one. God, what a wonderful cigar. Definitely on the top of my list to pick up, though apparently it's rather rare.

BTL's are definitely hard(er) to find. I just found them at a local B&M for the first time, and was shocked to see them priced at $20 each. Good smoke for sure
