Over the last couple days the wife decided that I needed a project. So she had me redo my twins bedroom. I didn't take any before pics, since the room wasn't that cool. But I took a pic of the spare bedroom, to give you an idea what the room looked like before.

Overall it took about 6 hours of total work (over about 4 days) to totally finish the room. Paint top color, let dry, paint bottom color let dry, cut/install/paint chair rail, then repaint all the baseboards and door mouldings.

You will have to excuse the mess, it was where we kept all the boys' stuff while I was doing the work...
This is what the walls looked like before I started. Pretty boring.

Here are some finished pics. The top is a light blue, and the lower is a darker blue color.

I am thinking the next room will be the office. Wainscoting with hardwood floors, and a nice color on the walls. Something that will look really nice with the cherry executive desk that is lives in the office.

Very nice, I was thinking of doing the exact same chalk board thing. Did the magnetic part really work? I was worried it wouldn't be strong enough.

I only did 2 light coats of the magnetic paint. If I were to do it again I would use 3 coats. A standard fridge magnet sticks, but the inexpensive letter magnets don't stick. I bought a set for like 99 cents, and they would barely stick to the fridge in the kitchen. I ordered some nicer ones (with strong magnets) off Amazon (I think they were like 6 bucks), and they work pretty well.
