How old is your friend?? If he's the same age as you, I'd recommend Veradero or Havana. Both can be quite the party and especially Holguin where there's always something happening.
I've always booked on-line, so PM me for details if he's a Canuck. If he's an American, I dunno who to use.

To change Holguin to Veradero, don't know where my head was.
