When the employee grabbed for the lit cigar, Green allegedly punched him in the face, causing redness and swelling in his left cheek, the police report said. After police arrived, Green admitted he punched the employee because "he was disrespectful."

That's where he went wrong. Had he said he thought the employee was going to punch him/go for his throat....he might not be in jail.

Disrespectful, sounds like attempt robbery, didn't it say reached for his cigar...

What was disrespectful was the guy smoking his cigar in the grocery store in the first place.

It's people like that, that make it bad for the rest of us IMO.

That's where he went wrong. Had he said he thought the employee was going to punch him/go for his throat....he might not be in jail.

If he had called his lawyer before the police questioned him any lawyer would have told him to say "the man was reaching toward my neck so I punched him in self defense, in fact I would like to press charges on the employee"
