I live south of Shreveport La around 80 miles on a lake called Toledo Bend. We raise show Scotish Terriers. I hunt some and fish some.

I am A Nam Vet and my handel says what I was at one time. Been retired since I was 55 now 58. And I like to smoke cigars as if you did not know that already. And is any one from here going to the RTDA next week. If so I will be there and would enjoy meeting you

I will try and show up and post some but like I said I consider home HP and I think you have a very nice board. We have ezboard and it sucks. Drop in and say hello at our place also.

Well, I'm not quite a newbie, having joined this board a year ago last December. I have lurked, but not posted until the other day on the newbie PIF thread.

I'm a lawyer from Virginia. I'm a member in good standing at CigarWise, CigarFamily, CigarUtopia, CigarBid, CigarWorld and other boards. I'm a member of Cigar Aficionado, but I've been on moderated status over there since I posted a link to CigarWise. I started the first Pay It Forward game at Cigar Aficionado and I am proud to say that it is still going strong with over 30,000 looks and nearly 3,000 posts.

I've been smoking cigars for 10 years or so, and almost exclusively Cuban cigars lately. One of my favorite things about the cigar obsession is sharing great smokes with others. One of my least favorite things about the obsession is people who take advantage of others' generosity.

Somebody on another thread suggested that I might "dog" people about a perceived transgression. Fact is, that I don't. I kill a snake where I find it, and I am very glad to say that 99% of the people I have met on various cigar bulletin boards are anything BUT snakes. If there's anything within reason that I can do to keep someone from getting scammed by a proven snake, I'll do it.

I enjoy smoking cigars, talking about them, tennis, good humor and many other things. I abhor cheats and liars.

I have a beautiful wife who more than tolerates my cigars and cigar storage.

I hang out mostly at CigarWise, where I am an moderator. I invite you to come on over and take a look at that board.

Nice to make the acquaintance of the guys (and ladies) on this Board.

Hell Puro, we have something else in common. Unfortunately I have a bunch of tackle that has been gathering dust for years.

I worked at a bait & tackle store in high school, and spent at least 20% of each check in the store. We got stuff @ 5% above cost, and the owner didn't bother to report those earnings. ;) Fly fishing became my thing during college so I had to of course by all new gear.. I tie my own flies and even built a very nice 3 wt rod on a Diamondback blank. I was in Dallas Fly Fishers for a while but didn't have the time to devote to it.

By the way, what in the hell is the picture in your Avatar, I have been staring at it trying to figure it out. Is that some sort of pipe?

You have your heart in the exact spot it should be in, I don't need to agree with your feelings to see that. :)

I for one am very appreciative that oldrover, Kevin7, van55 & usmce5 and all the rest who were good enough to warn us about the shenanigans they've seen on other boards.

I spend about 99% of my time here and had no ideas of the problems other sites with a certain member and again, I want to thank you ;) :thumbs:

It's good to hear from you again Van, haven't seen you since the 2002 Ashton Cigar get together at Emerson's on VA Beach Blvd. Glad your doin' good and Sunny Central Florida is a great place to live..... :D :thumbs: :p

This was very nice to read. This is where I spend most all of my cigar time, and a big chunk of my internet time as a whole as well. I have liked our board a great deal but just figured it was because I'm so used to it here. Looking around on others from time to time just feels not quite right though, you know what I mean. I've been over at Americas Debate some here lately and they use the same board software we do here. Man does that ever make it easier to just slide right in. Sorry didn't mean to rant, and no offense intended to other boards in any way. I really do appreciate though what a great design Rod has worked so hard to put together for us all here............
