Codger-in-training
Today makes a week-and-a-half since my promotion took effect...and so far, so good. It turns out that I'm not just the Administrative Officer for the air traffic control tower and TRACON at Anchorage International...but for the Terminal Services Hub. This means I also support the tower at Merrill Field in Anchorage, as well as others at Fairbanks, Juneau, Bethel, King Salmon, Kodiak, and Kenai. It promises to keep me well employed.
I'm still cheezin' about having an actual office, equipped with four walls, a functioning door, and a window with a parking lot view. I've already made a start on the "I love me" wall and I've even been told I can paint if I want...provided I supply the paint, the roller, and the elbow. Now if I can only get my ergo chair, I'll be comfortable.
The new job also means more opportunities to travel. Looks like I'll be in the Sacramento area (Folsom) during the week of April 7th for a budget meeting and then, I may proceed directly to Renton WA for some training the next week.
Where did I used to work, again?
