Well folks, I will be here and posting like always, but you will notice no reviews for a couple of weeks.

I am going into oral surgery later today where they are going to cut out some teeth and some wisdoms and all that.

Regardless, once I get out I know I won't be able to drink through a straw or smoke for a couple weeks to avoid dry socket (oh joy).

So anyway, just an update on why you will see me here but no reviews.

Sam

Hope all goes well with the surgery...a dry socket is probably one of teh most painful things there is.....except for dry humping a tree, maybe PG can clarify...anyway, you can send me the smokes you wish reviewed..anything to help a brother out, you know take one for the team and such....LOL.... :0  :D

Sam good luck on the surgery. I had to have one tooth removed about two months ago and couldn't smoke for a while. But it's better than getting a dry socket that's for sure.

Good luck man, and don't worry about it abit. I'm sure all will go well.

I just had surgury removing one of my wisdom teeth. Came as a suprise to me that it needed to go, I had always thought I had a more then big enough mouth for all those teeth. Turned out way better then I had planned though. Hurt way less then all the problems the tooth was causing me.

One thing to remember though. If they tell you to like ice it every fifteen minutes for the first six hours or something......... DO IT !! It is very important to follow after surgury instructions closely. I followed mine very closely and I'm sure it helped a lot in making my recovery faster and easier then I had thought it would be. The doctor even freaked me out just a little with how much he was emphasizing it all before I left.

Mine turned out good and I'm sure yours will as well man.

Sam I've had this done too and I'll add an "Amen" to what gibu said. Follow the directions. I had all four of mine out at the same time. Only one really needed removing but you know how they are. While we're in there and all that. Plus he probably needed to make a boat payment or something. Anyway, it's not all that bad. They give you nice drugs (even better than cigars - hey maybe you could do a review of the painkillers!!) and my advice to you is TAKE THEM. I thought I'd be brave and only take them when it hurt. BAD IDEA! Take them on schedule whether you think you need them or not. PAIN BAD, DRUGS GOOD!!

Percocet

Would have been better if it hadn't have been the equivolent of a sleeping pill for me. I rate it an 83 overall. :D

I forgot about the drugs. Like Father T says, whether you think you need it or not, stay on schedule. Start as soon as you can even if you don't feel anything yet. Much better to keep things numb then to let it get out of hand and have to catch up.

Oh I plan on staying on schedule with the pain pills. For a large guy (in best cartman voice: I'm not fat, I'm big-boned!) I am an absolute wimp when it comes to pain. One of the reasons I finally went to get this stuff taken care of.... Let's just say I have a lot of teeth coming out today... somewhere in the nearborhood of about 1/3 of them... and by this time next year in at least top dentures. Right now though just getting rid of the ones that need gone.

I had 2 of my wisdoms pulled a few years ago and I remember the pain afterwards, so I am not wanting to imagine how it is going to feel after getting so many pulled out *shudder*.

Anyway I will be as active as ever and all that, will just be "gumby" for awhile. And yes not looking forward to the next few days LOL and yes nervous too. No offense to any dentist here on the list, but I dislike all of you in a nice mental paranoia way :D

Thanks for the tops and all and will report back to you all come Sunday on how much pain I am in and whether people can understand me when I talk :sign:

Well good luck Sam. It is too bad they weren't operating on your hands then we all could get a reprieve from your babbling. :p :p :sign:

Wow, that sure is the pot callin' the kettle black..PG aka the "Maxie-padder" has some nerve, huh....LOL....

Hang in there Sambo..I had 16 teeth pulled at once nearly 4 years ago and five more 6 months after that....I have full denture on top and partial on bottom. Keep all the teeth, especially the bottom, as you can. It was painful, but not life-threatening. Go with the ice as was said before, it really is soothing.

I hope everything goes well for you sammy. We will be looking forward to some more reviews when you get back.

Good luck with the dental work, and a bit of advice, Hydrocodone(sp), tell em ya want the 10.0/650's. :0

Well I went into the oral surgery supposed to have about 14-16 pulled. They decided only to pull 10 at this time.

Except one thing.

I woke up right in the middle of number 3 being pulled. Long story short they knocked me out with something else for a few minutes to get that third one and called it a day. So only 3 pulled and I get to go do it again in a couple weeks ???

Turns out I was highly resilient to the stuff they used to knock me out with.

This is going to be a loooong summer

You must have built up a tolerance. :D :D

That sucks, brother. Maybe they'll get it right next time. Here's hoping anyway....
