I participated in THIS last year and thought it was a pretty cool contest. The person who ran it last year hasn't been active since 5/22/06 and it has been brought to my attention that he probably will not be returning. Is there anyone who is familiar with this type of pool and knows how to set it up willing to run it this year? I'd be willing to help anyway I could. I aren't two brite when it comes to these kind of things.

Looks very interesting and easy to set up only problem is getting people to jump on board. Count me in if you will have me to a) put it together or b) be a part, I would be game for at least 2-4 squares. .

I run a pool similar to this at work. I'd be in for 4 Squares.

This is a standard issue pool. I understand that I'm a bit new, but I'd be willing to run this superbowl pool if everyone was OK with it.

The coolerdor is stable at 64 degrees/65%, so I have an adequate environment to store the sticks.

My only question would be how would shipping costs be handled for the winners?

Just a little heads up on this! The guy that ran that here last year also ran another on on another site that a lot of the guys belong to. He didn't pay up on that one. I'm stating this as these things can go wrong. Maybe a better way is like Cohibasurfer does his WS pool. Just a tale of caution. By the way I wouldn't mind playing!

If had trustworthy participants, you could have people take thier squares, keep sticks until after the Super Bowl, and THEN ship sticks directly to the winner.

Only down side is organizing who sends sticks to who (whom), and if you have deadbeats that don't pay up.

As earlier stated, I am willing to run the pool.

I will cover shipping costs to the quarterly winners, but I suggest 1 OpusX or Anejo per block.

The payout would be 25 OpusX or Anejos for the winner of quarters one through three. The final 25 sticks are paid out at the end of the fourth quarter, or end of overtime in the event of a tie at the end of regulation.

Thoughts?

My thought is.....If everybody agree's to have you run the pool. You break it down as you see fit. IMHO

Fair enough Dickson. I will defer hosting this pool to anyone with greater longevity.

For purposes of selecting cigars, I suggest having two bags, one for Anejos and another for OpusX. The host should alternate back and forth until they reach 25. This process should be repeated 4 times.

Wilkey doesn't live too far from me. If everyone agrees that I'm OK to host (and assuming he's OK with it), I would take my coolerdor to his house and he could oversee the selection process and independently verify the cigars in play.

I'm ok with you running it bro!!!

Thanks David, I'm an NFL fan through and through. And my Ravens are lookin' good!!!! I run the block pool at work, so I'm familiar with them.

We obviously have plenty of time before the superbowl, but in order to begin collecting sticks, we should begin soon.

I'll give other BOTLs a day or two to chime in with their thoughts.

Wilkey, if you happen upon this, would you be agreeable to me meeting with you once I have received the sticks?
