Alright-
we all know that there are occasions that we have no idea what to get for the men in our lives-
That is why you guys end up with stinky cologne, more drill bits that you can shake your makitas at, or the ever popular BAD TIE!!! ( HaAHAHAHA!) We all know that you guys have a heck of a time actually TELLING the women in your lives EXACTLY what you actually WANT...So if there would be a gift you could ask for
( yes just one ) What would it BE?

...Oh and make it good-cars- trucks- and GI Joes do not count!

Oh and the bar wench DOESN"T COUNT EITHER!!

Nah- I know what he wants...every time he sees MINE he gets a hard on!!! HE IS GETTING A BLACKBERRY 7520-
I AM JUST WAITING FOR THE MERGER TO FINISH UP- THEN I CAN DECIDE IF HE IS GETTING THE BB OR THE TREO-
NOW IF I COULD ONLY CONVINCE HIM TO CHANGE SERVICE PROVIDERS....

Treo without added software does not connect to a Blackberry enterprise Server. If thats the case stick with the BB.

YES- But I sell them both- the BES is nice but when it comes to out of box solutions and "consumer appeal"
the TREO BLOWS THE BB OUT DA WATER...

:p

On a more serious note though....

Me and the wife RARELY exchange gifts...were both terrable shoppers and we both know it. For the last few years when it comes to birthdays, christmas, etc...weve just given eachother the visa, with a spending limit and let eachother buy what WE want. That way, we get something we need, want or can put to good use and not something that will sit in your storage closet till the next yard sale. Kinda impersonal yes, but it works for us! And even though we do the majority of our gift exchanges this way, we still slip in a surprize or two...mostly on anniversaries and such.

ok the topic was not started because I needed ideas on what to get E-
LOL-
If you all know E- the way I know E- he is one opinionated coastie!
He's got an opinion on everything and anything! No problems telling me... no not that- this!!!
LOL

Well, I can tell you the perfect gift for any guy in a relationship...

The best gift you can give a man you are in a relationship is a day were you don't tell him the bacon he's eating is unhealthy, the beer he's drinking tastes terrible or the cigar he is smoking smell like a horses ass. Better would be asking him if the bacon is cooked the way he likes it, if he’s ready for another beer or if he’s enjoying his cigar.

Also, when you two are watching the action movie he wants to watch don't mention it's stupid and that the great action sequence could never happen or that the beautiful scientist that is saving the world that the hero is protecting could not really be that smart. Mention how cool the movie is and how hot the scientist is. Most importantly don’t tell him after the movie that now he owes you a romantic comedy for having to sit though that.

Then, on the way to the bedroom don't bring up that the door he hung last week in not closing properly and needs adjusting. Tell him thanks for hanging the new doors and that he did a great job. He knows he has to fix it but if not, tell him another day.

Finally... well, whatever happens next don't do any nagging or stating of the obvious before, during or after that either.

I can tell you I have never been one of those high strung over emotional girly girls! I love bacon( I am latin not eating pig is sacriligious) IF EMO has beer in hand I will typically be drinking out of the glass with as much gusto as he is -I will always by pass the romantic comedies and the last time I we ended up watching one, I found something way better to do  if the door needs rehanging- I will typically wait for him to go to work and fix it my damn self! And never mention it - as you can see from the initial post I know tools, I will never use a butter knife to sub for a flathead ( it strips the screws ) BTW- I love strippers, lapdances, chickenwings, wrestling, basketball, football, guns and action films and sci-fi... I will always point out the hot chicks in a movie and he knows what will make me turn my head in a woman- Actually I think he's caught me few times staring too long at a cute fem butt-

Neener-neener! :whistling:

P.S.
before him I knew nothing of the cigar thing- but instead of breakingout the fabreeze and stomping around giving 'em $h14T ( mierda ) for it I decided to scope out a few sites and learn a thing or two-

But- thanks for the coaching!!

Hmmm...I wanted to see Batman Begins and got GF to come with me rather than son as he had already seen it (with his GF who liked it...mine slept through most of it)...so that's how I got roped into seeing a romantic comedy last night...lookit that...ya learn something new every day...

One thing my wife got for me a long time ago was an AUTHENTIC Houston Astros baseball jersey. Back in the late 1980's I think it cost about $100.00 and they now go for almost $200.00. It's the kind of "pricey" gift that I would probably never buy for myself but it sure was a great gift.

Nice watches are a great gift too. Get him a Rolex

I've kind of got a "watch" thing going and while my wife can't afford a Rolex, she knew I wanted a vintage watch. While talking to my local watchmaker, she looked at a 40 year-old Omega Seamaster he had in his drawer that he had taken in on trade. It was pretty beat and barely ran. She bought it and paid for a complete refurb. She paid for it over time while the watchmaker worked on it and chased the parts (rounding up all the parts for a 1965 watch can take some time). In the end, it came out very nice and was way less than a brand new one. She gave it to me for our 21st wedding anniversary. What meant the most to me was that it was a gift that required some effort and thought. It wasn't a "mall" purchase. Very cool!

Here's a pic:

Find something your man is interested in and get him a related gift, but not something everybody has or can buy....He'll appreciate the effort.

Cheers,
Joe
