The prelight inspection showed a dark wrapper with a single vein running the length of the cigar. The cap was well constructed and the cigar was adorned with one of the nicest bands that I’ve seen on a cigar. This is a good looking cigar.

After clipping the end, the draw was very easy. Upon lighting, I was greeted with a sweetness. I’ve read other reviews that mention a spiciness right from the start - I didn’t get that. As the first third finished, a smooth woodiness started to come out. At about the halfway mark, this flavor gave way to a black pepper spice. It was strong enough to get the back of my throat. After another inch, all of this gave way to just a nice smooth blend.

The construction was impressive throughout the cigar, with firm whitish ash.

For me, the question always comes down to two questions. One, would you buy more and two, would you recommend these to a friend. I answer both with an easy affirmative. I had a Padron 1926 maduro earlier in the day and I would put this cigar right along with it. At this point, it comes down to availability.
