ok seems to be two highly saught after sticks (yeah i know theres actually a crap load of sticks in the 2 lines) short of isoms they seem to be the most craved of all....question is if ya walked into your fav shop and he said "hey my favorite customer come smoke with me" and he offered one or the other..which would ya pick??? and no ya cant whack him in the head and run off with both

There is no straight answer to that question.

I love both and will select either depending
on the time of day and my mood. However, if I was
given an ultimatum I would choose any 1926 Padron
for consistency and less nicotine.

Both very different smokes. With the Opus, I find a big difference in flavor depending on the vitola. With the higher end Padrons, the flavor profiles are more similar among the sizes. All of this of course is my humble opinion ... Having said that, I like them both, but would take a 40th anniversary torpedo over them all. :)

You should have made this a poll.
Good question, probably the Padron.
No reason thats just my mood right now,and thats how it goes.

Tomorrow or 20 minutes from now it could be the Opus.

Like them both, but it depends on my mood at the time. Tonight it was an Opus, tomorrow who knows. On the average though, its the Fuente because of the flavor, and the strength.

I look forward to being able to one day weigh in on this discussion, lol.

But based on research and comments I think I would grab the X

Brickhouse, I think I can help you out with half of the dillema. And maybe knock a couple off your wishlist too!

Duck and cover, sticks inbound hooah!

I love the Padron, but I have never tried an Opus so I cant compare the two. What I can say is that the Padrons seem much easier to find, and much less likely to be insanely marked up. From a marketing standpoint, it seems like Fuente has tried create more of a buzz through their rarity. I could be way off, but that is just what it seems like to me.

If someone were offering me a gift of one or the other,I would choose the '26. If I were spending my own money, I would choose the Opus. The '26 is way over priced, especially when you consider how good the '64 is in comparison.

Doc.

I can only smoke the Opus after they have been resting for 5 years or so. Given that fact, I would go with the Padron. The one 26 that I have had was fantastic, and I would like to give them a second chance.
