Um... pls don't hit me in the face for this question, but why You all hate PP so much? Is it all because their taxes, charges etc?

I don't hate them at all, I acutally use Paypal quite often. However I had an auction on e-scam a while back for the stock seat off my VTX. The same seat that was in the crate the day I saw the bike and they assembled it for me. The same seat that the factory sent for the bike.

My bike's an 1800 Retro, and I sold it as such. The purchaser got the seat and claimed it didn't fit his bike. I verified that he had the same bike, 2003 Honda VTX 1800 Retro, which he said his was exactly the same as mine, but the seat didn't fit his. So he filed a claim with PayPal and without any argument from me, they sided in his favor and took a refund for him out of my account. Yeah, it pissed me off! For whatever reason the purchaser got cold feet and wanted out, this was his way out of it, and I paid the price. I had to ship it back to him at my expense, and of course lost the sale for an item that was EXACTLY as described and in pristine condition. What really burns my ass is that a bidding war took place and the seat sold for way above what they normally do. So I think he found another at a better price, and went that route. Bastard!

If you mention tobacco or cigars in your when you send money they close your account and take all your money in that account because its ageist there rules. Which as far as I know is quite illegal since there now classified as a financial institution (that’s why they pay interest because they have too) and being as such they can’t discriminate purchases. But I’ve been known to be wrong.

Yep, pretty well known that you cant mention, "cigars, tobacco..." I just paid for some Rocky Patel Sun Growns and in the memo I just put 5-RPSG, the seller knows what it is, I know what it is.

I thought the stock seat was uncomfortable, but damn that's bad!

And in case no one answered Michal's question yet, those jokers in question in this thread no longer allow themselves to be used for any transactions involving tobacco products of any kind. So if you use them, and have any mention of cigars in your description, they will suspend your account and keep your money. Then they'll come over to your house and yell at you alot, then leave your toilet seat up and a bunch of dirty dishes in the sink. And if you really pissed them off, they'll cut the corner too close when backing out of your driveway and drive across the lawn ruining your new sod.

I understand that they have liability and other legal concerns, but a compnay that bills itself a a universal payment service that won't allow legal transactions for tobacco and firearms to be processed won't get any of my other business either...

Wade, Your PP experience really sux. I understand You at all.

Mark, I use PP very often - 95% to pay for CD's, but I was going to make some cigars purchases via PP, so thanks a lot for info, I'll remember it.

Gonz, fortunatelly I live in a block of flats, so I dont have any driveway, but... do they really live the toilet seat up... oh... they're from hell! ;(

Tigger, thanks for info, if they do not let to pay for firearms, then I'll never try to buy Uranium via PP, oh no! never! ;)

Well actually I can understand the firearm thing. Unless you’re a certified reseller its illegal to ship firearms from one individual to another so there’s really no reason to use paypal. You can ship from individual to manufacturer though.

I have been using paypal since they went live. Never an issue in over 1000 transactions.

I do however move any cash out of that account every few days. If anything were to happen and they freeze my account, I would be out just a few dollars.

Depends. I'm pretty sure that C&R License holders can ship qualifying firearms to one another. And private parties can do transactions, as long as they're shipped through FFL's (ie, I pay you for something, and you ship it to my FFL).

I'm 100% behind their right to do business as they see fit. I just don't like it, and choose not to use them.
