Cigar: Padilla 1948 (7 x 48)

Cost: Don't know. It was part of a sampler

Drink: Coca-Cola Classic (the best cola out there)

Appearance: 2 banded cigar that says "Padilla 1948" on the top band and a second band that says "BATCH No. 07 343A". This has a corojo/criollo wrapper on the cigar.

Pre-light: Just smells like your normal cigar tobacco.

Taste of the cigar: This cigar had a woodsy, and nutty taste to it. It is very bland tasting. I don't taste any spice in it.

Construction: Held an average ash. The draw was a little tight. The cigar required a few touchups, but had a razor sharp burn for the most part

Strength: This was a medium cigar.

Summary: This cigar was extremely bland and one-dimensional to me. It was hard to pick up any flavor in this cigar. I stopped smoking it with 4" left on it. I give it a 5/10

I got a 5er of 1948 coronas a few months ago and had a similar reaction. Tasted pretty mild and bland. Did have another a week or so ago and found it to be a little more nuanced in flavor. Might be worth taking another shot in a few weeks or a couple months. Definitely not my favorite Padilla but I decided I won't quickly judge smokes from this line just yet.

Thanks for pitching in on the reviews. Great to have these in the archive.
