I always loved when our local airport would host an airshow. They have not done so in sometime but they were a blast as a kid and even as an adult. We all hear about the different types of planes and equipment our military uses but it is something to behold when seen up close.

We lived about 3 miles from the local airport and reasonably close to their old landing pattern growing up but when the airshow was in town the demonstration planes and jets would buzz our house very very low. It was always a thrill to see a single coming around but when the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds were in town and a cluster would come by, that was awesome.

I love the roar of the jets and the look of the new aircraft but there is something about those old warbirds from WWII that really do it for me. They are stunning.
