Pipe Repair

I broke the tenon (threaded) on my Pioneer. It is a block meerschaum with an amber stem. The tenon is a slip fit on the stem and threaded on the mortise. It wasn't expensive in the 70's, but it was a gift, so I'd like to fix it if I can.

I haven't had much luck in the Quad Cities so I was hoping there may be some info on where I could send it. Any insight is appreciated.

Dave Wolfe at Walker Briar works was the man to see with problems like these. He has since passed the pipe repair portion of his business on to a gentleman named Mike Myers. I don't know anyone who has used Mike yet, but I sent two pipes to him for re-stems. Should have them back mid-May. Walker's reputation alone was enough for me to take a shot.

Mike completed the repairs to my pipe tenon. I sent along a briar that needed a new stem and he fixed that also. Great work and he posts your progress online in a spreadsheet.
