Big series this weekend. Anyone interested betting a fiver. Minimum $8 a stick. I know there's some Yankee fans that got to feel confident. :laugh:

It's a four game series so winners got to win three which I'm sure the Sox will.

Damn Joe, I just found this thread. I would have taken it just because the law of averages had to tilt in the Yankees favor...and it did for one game at least....gee, now we're 1-8 against you guys.

I have this feeling Smoltz will find his way just in time for the playoffs. They may take him out of the rotation and throw him in the bullpen, but he's too smart a pitcher to just shut it down...his velocity wasn't all that bad and he had the Yankees on their heels in the first 2 innings before the wheels fell off. It takes time for an injured pitcher to regain his cutter after a long layoff....tough pitch to throw consistently. If he becomes an effective 2-3 inning pitcher out of the Sox bullpen, watch out.

For the Yankees and us fans, I hope I'm completely wrong!

I'm no Braves fan, but I loved watching Smoltz, Glavine, Avery and Maddux pitch. That was one of the greatest lineups of pitchers I've ever witnessed. Smoltz seems a quality individual as well. If this is his end, then I offer a tip of my hat to him. He was a great player.
 
Just wanted to remind Red Sox Nation that the Yankees now have the best record in baseball. Also, Texas is only 1 game back in the WC race.

Holy Shit, even I'm shocked.
