I was trying to hold off on cracking this open, but . . .

Glorious. Thank you, Ray. This is a lovely, lovely dram.

Nose is mostly honeyed vanilla, with a hint of coconut, and so is the initial taste on the tongue, which opens up to a malty salted caramel with a backbone of bourbon cask inflected tannins and a long, slow, fiery cask strength finish. It mellows beautifully with a little breathing time in the snifter and needs no dilution. Big and full and spicy and just sweet enough, with a classic BenRiach profile.

No age statement, but definitely fully matured.

Word is that like Glendronach, cask strengths will be a regular, possibly annual, BenRiach offering. I can't wait! :D
