Ambulance driver in Europe during WWI, POW in WWII, lived to be 110. I can't even fathom the experiences he had. R.I.P.

Wow, that's a story that will stick with for many moons. R.I.P. to a very deserving American hero.

Yet some did, in fact, grow old, and through them we remembered the fallen, and their sacrifice. Fare forth brightly, Frank, and may your ancestors welcome you warmly into their shining company.

The DAV magazine did a list of the surviving WW I veterans and they released that list either 2009 and or 2010. It was a plea for anyone knowing someone that could have been old enough to served in WW I. They asked you to report anyone that fit the criteria. At the time, there was only 4 or 5 surviving WW I veterans in the world. Only WW I veteran I knew was a neighbor that served in 3 wars for the USA. I remember it was WW I and WW II. I can't remember if it was the Spanish-American War or Korean for his 3rd. I remember him passing the way at the Hospital. He was an interesting fellow and his house was filled with beautiful antiques.
