MIAMI – Tabacalera Perdomo, S.A. has earned the prestigious 16th Annual ‘Best of the Best’ award from the Robb Report in their recently released June 2004 issue. Culminating a year’s search for the luxury world’s most extraordinary products and services, ‘Best of the Best’ features exceptional automobiles, boats, jewels, vacations, wines, spirits, cigars, fashion and other lavish products and services. The annual award in the cigar category was bestowed on Tabacalera Perdomo’s ultra-premium EDICION de SILVIO®. According to Robb Report writer and internationally known pipe and cigar authority Richard Carleton Hacker, EDICION de SILVIO® has “a rich fragrance even before it is lit. And the aroma, construction and taste are as notable as the packaging. Aged in 50-year old oak barrels, this Cuban technique adds lemony-vanilla accents and brings the taste to a smooth plateau that lasts throughout a remarkably long finish.”
Tabacalera Perdomo’s EDICIÓN de SILVIO® is a secretive blend of deeply aged tobaccos created as a tribute to family patriarch Silvio Perdomo. Each cigar is fastidiously handcrafted in reverence to Silvio Perdomo’s most cherished vitolas: the “Robusto” (5” x 54); “Double Corona” (7 5/8” x 50) and “No. 2 Torpedo” (6 1/8” x 54). Fifty of each size is delicately stocked in a slide-top, perforated Spanish cedar caché surrounded by and the boldly fragrant shavings of a 120-year old Spanish cedar tree. These shavings are hand-carved from the rich oily heartwood of the tree, infusing a delicate aroma and a distinctively elegant finish to each and every cigar. The wax-sealed cigar caché and Spanish cedar shavings are then concealed under lock and key within a rustic “Spanish Galleon” tobacco chest. This highly sought, limited production cigar retails between $17.50 and $25.00 per cigar.
