Just wondering should there be any difference in a salt test at different times of the year. I tested my digital hydro during the winter months when the humidity in the air was low to none and it was at 68 % 7 points off. I retested it tonight the weather is warmer and more humidity in the air and it reads 73% two points off , Is this normal? and if so which reading should I consider correct?

Nope. There will be minute differences in RH based on the temp, but only extreme temperature differences will matter. 70 degrees, give or take 10 or 15 should yield the same results.

The seasonal variation is likely your hygro losing its calibration over the months. I guess that's why it pays to recalibrate!

If you seal the bag (I use two) around the hygro and salt, the outside humidity shouldn't come into the equation. Temperature variances, as others have said, shouldn't make a difference if you're still somwhere in the vicinity of room temperature.
