Most families that "need" the assistance smoke. If they take that same .62 that they WILL pay per pack and on a 1 -2 pack a day habit, they could sacrifice not "getting cheese with that. . ." and get THEIR kids health care. Or just quit. People don't realize that they can get health insurance on their own.
If it came down to me quitting cigars OR my kids health care. . .the kids win every time! Cut off the cable, don't call long distance, don't drink soda, what ever it takes to support the family I created, not the TAX PAYER!
Sorry, I live in AZ where $26 million a year goes to just the Tucson area hospitals for health care of illegal immigrants! That's not counting boarder hospitals like Nogales, Sierra Vista, Douglas, Bisbee, Yuma etc. . . but that's another issue right? or is it!
