GawnTrail (Michael) tracked me down in Sin City this past week. I am sorry to say that he waited for a very long time on me. My wife was in the room resting when he called and she instructed him to look for a short guy with really short dark hair and a striped shirt. That really narrows it down doesn't it?! :lookup:

He persisted.

I was beat. It was about 1am by EST time and I was very tired. I decided to call it a night and head back up to the room. I happened to notice a very distinguished gentleman standing by the house phones holding a cigar as I passed by. When I arrived to the room, my wife was getting ready to go down to meet Michael so that they (together) could find me. Then it clicked. "I saw him" I said.

Long story short, it was him and we hit it off well. We both enjoyed Monte ISOMs and he talked my head off! LOL :D I nodded every once in a while to let him know I was still alive. Like I said, I was very tired. I hope I was a good host. I didn't mean to be so quiet. I was just tired.

Meanwhile my wife lost about 300 bucks while we puffed away carelessly on our cigars! :p

After a few hours of very interesting conversation (for me at least) he went back to his hotel

It was great meeting a BOTL. Thanks for meeting up with me GT. I enjoyed it. Next time, I promise to talk more! LOL :thumbs:

He plans to be at the CP Herf. Ya'll be nice to him. :)
 
That's pretty close to how it went down.

I arrived at the casino about 11:45 pm. I had already called the lovely Mrs. SD_ STACK to find out if SD was around. She said he was in the Casino. So I jump in the trusty truck (the motorhome broke down on the way into LV, but that's another story) and cruised on over.

I looked around and found a lively craps game going and Mrs. SD_STACK said he would be at the craps table. I hang out on the edge of the action and figure I've IDed SD. I walk up and ask this dude if he's him, and he looks at me and says nope. I'm a little gun shy now and just kinda hang out for few more minutes. I call Mrs. SD_STACK again and she says she'll come down and we'll find him together.

(If a short, fat guy - wearing sandals and a visor is distinguished, I guess I fit the profile :D )

They came out of the elevators together and we proceeded to talk, smoke and generally stay up late. It was fun.

SD offered up a great Monty #2 and I smoked it while we yacked. He looked a little beat and Mrs SD_STACK wasn't having much luck. We called it a night about 3 AM. It was a good time and interesting meeting someone from here at CP.

Any of you guys going to Las Vegas for the CP HERF we'll have to hook up at a specific place at a specific time so that we're not running around 'looking' for each other.

I owe SD_STACK a good smoke to return the favor of the Monty #2. My motorhome broke down and ate up my 'extra' cash for the month, so it will have to wait 'till May. But, I am going to find something good.

I enjoyed meeting SD and his lovely wife, and smoking a quality stick. Maybe next time, my wife and some of you guys and your wives can all come too.

It's always fun to meet someone from the boards in person. ;)

The first CPer I ever met was Fast4Dr at the first LI Herf in January. Shortly thereafter SMOKOZUNA arrived along with CaptainB. I don't know about them but I had a great time meeting these guys who I already felt I knew already. Next thing I knew, it was four hours later and time to head home :p and we still didn't get a chance to talk about 3/4 of what we wanted to say.

Hey SD, 2:00 PM is a much better time to smoke some cigars instead of 2:00 AM :sign:

Was Mabelene there (sorry about the spelling)??? :D
