Do any of you have any opinions on Silgranit sinks. My wife is planning on replacing counters and sink.

go with a stainless steel sink of 18ga steel and with a lot of sound insulation.
the biggest problem with these types of sinks are the composite element, they tend to scratch white. and don't let the sales person tell you different, my company is a manufacturers rep for this type of product, they do scratch, it's a question of when it is going to happen.
stick to an elkay stainless, or franke, even blanco makes stainless (the folks who make that silgranit sink you mentioned) remember the more expensive stainless, is priced based on nickel content, the higher the nickle the less likely you will get rust spots. you can use undermount sinks in granite, solid surface (ie: corian type products) and in composite materials such as silestone, cesarstone (the quartz based stuff). my countertop co. even offers and undermount in laminate, which was unheard of years ago.
