I am going to Lake Tahoe for some fun and snow next week.
I will be staying at Nuggets in Reno. Do they allow smoking in
the casinos? I plan to bring my own, but I would like to maybe
stop by a local B&M. Any recommendation would be appreciated.
TIA.

Jack

Yes smoking is allowed in the casinos, but sometimes at the tables the dealer prohibits cigar smoking. I have had no problems at the slot machines with cigars yet.

Have fun on your trip

Jack-

Yes to smoking in Casinos and as stated earlier at the tables depending on the dealer. i have never had an issue there myself.

As for a B&M you MUST stop in to visit Dion (vudu9) at Fumare. Great selection of smokes and very nice lounge area! Another BOTL lives there in Reno and might be down for a mini herf. PM John (jfk742), I am sure he will oblige you!

Have fun and good luck at the tables.

Almost forgot to add that there is also Lake Tahoe Cigar Co. in Horizon Resort and Casino, Harrahs, and Mont Bleu Resort and Casino if in a pickle. Still, best head over to visit Dion!!

You can smoke in the casino's, just not at the poker tables or in the restaurants, anywhere that serves food. The only other issues I've had have been with people fake coughing when they walk by :). Lake Tahoe Cigar Co. in Mont Bleu will honor any price on their cigars in stock that you can find, last time I was in there they had some opus and anejo's, so it's worth a shot. If you do find yourself in the Reno area you should check out Fumare, all the regulars are good guys and the prices are fair.

If you want to meet up send me a pm.

Happy Holidays,
John

Yeah! What he said! :sign:

Headed Reno way myself soon John...........hopefully you'll be around.

I must second (third?) the recommendations to stop at Fumare. I did not have time to sit and smoke there when I was last in Reno, but Dion was an amazing resource, and I ended up buying my Secret Santa stock from him. I look forward to visiting after Christmas.

John, I'll be PM'ing you when I finally settle on a schedule. Are you in town post-Xmas?

Thanks guys. Appreciate the responses.
It's too bad smoking is not allowed at the tables...,
always wanted to that.

Charlie - I'll definitely look up Dion if I make it to Fumare.
Thanks for the advice.

John - Thanks for the offer, but I will be spending
the time with the family with little time to even spare for
myself. Maybe if I can sneak away I'll look you up. Thanks
again.

Raden - Thanks. I'll definitely have fun. I haven't been
to the snow in 6 years.

By tables, I think they mean poker tables. I haven't had any issues smoking a cigar and playing some blackjack. I don't know of anyplace you can smoke a cigar at a poker table ... seems just wrong, but that's the way it is.

If you like the Illusione line of cigars, you should definitely stop by. If you do decide to get some cigars, tell him you are from out of town and he will ship the cigars to you. That way you don't pay NV tobacco tax; you are just responsible for your state's tax when you do your taxes. It ends up saving you about 22% ... :D Dion is very cool, as are most of the guys. If Dion isn't there, then Dave (dmoby) should be. If you need a taxi, there is a cigar smoking fiend, Paul, that will let you keep your cigar lit when traveling between stops. They should have his # at Fumare.

Enjoy!

Cory, thanks for the advise about Paul. I will be taking taxis when I'm there.
