He is broke and wanted to give me something for Father's day. I asked for his time. So, he and his sister spent the a beautiful Colorado sprin(ish) day with me. We spent they day, first at an outdoor car show. We saw everything from custom, one of a kinds, to carefully customized production cars. It was ok, but...

Then we hit a passion of mine. There was a air show, a showing of vintage military aircraft. I don't have quite Swissy's passion, but I'm a big fan of our Greatest Generation.

He is a good boy who has grown into a good man.

I saw that old girl fly in. She came in right over my house. Nothing like the sound of a big rotary engine.

We were lucky enough to see all the jets fly, including a B2 flyover and an F16. All did high speed runs over the airport. The F16 cut to a vertical climb even with the crowd, but not overhead. I felt the heat wave. Magnificent!

I work about a mile from the end of the runway. Both the Dauntless and the B24 flew over during my lunchtime cigar. The Dauntless seemed just as big, but much louder. She looked like she was just hanging in the air. It's obvous how she was designed for a carrier landing.
