i saw these in the jr's catalog.
it looks like they have a dark foot and head and a light middle.
is this 2 different wrapper leaves or is it dyed at the foot and head?

Two different wrappers. That's for both the La Escepcion IV and the Mantequillas.

is ther a decided taste difference as you smoke? ???

I haven't noticed a taste difference, but then the wrapper change is right at the nub. the tapas are great for chomping. They are a nice mild smoke.

The only ones I've tried were the Mantequillas when they first came out when only the head of the cigar had the maduro wrapper. Didn't really notice any difference other than getting a little of a maduro flavor because of holding it in my mouth.

Reviews that I have read elsewhere describes a richness at the beginning of the cigar and then when it burns past the maduro on the foot it changes.

IMHO it seems to be a gimmick to boost sales.
