So I got home last night and made some dinner. BBQ Chicken, Squash and White Rice.

About 8:30pm or so I retired to the Lanai. WTF am I talking about. I don't have a lanai. I have a back patio with a patio table.

I grabbed the Esencia Corona Gorda.

the cigar looked perfect. No soft spots. Beautiful chocolate brown wrapper. No big visible veins. Packed to the gills with tobacco.

I clipped this beauty and took a pre light draw. Perfect draw. I couldn't wait to light this thing.

Upon lighting I was finally happy!

The cigar burned perfect. Maybe one touch up an inch or so down, but I really don't worry if a cigars burn uneven. I just want it to draw.

Full flavored with hints of coffee and cocoa. Not a huge spice bomb like some other cigars out there. Now don't get me wrong like that
spice bomb from time to time. I also found a slight hint of cedar, with some leathery notes. It was a chewy, thick smoke, just what I like
after a long day at work followed by a nice meal. I also found the cigar to be much more rounded with some aging before release to the public.

I highly reccomend this vitola.

Marc from Esencia Cigars/Palio Cutters, you have a winner here buddy! Keep up the good work! I know you will, I can hear the passion in your voice
when we talk on the phone!

Great Job!!!

After smoking a few from Al (Thanks!!!) and some more on the way from Dave (Thanks!!), I can confidently say that dems is good gars.

Great review! These are very tasty and nub pretty well if you finish it slowly. I agree overall with the tastes you picked up, but at one point I felt as if someone had poured pepper into my mouth. Odd how differently tastes can be! I enjoy this cigar and would probably profile it more closely to a pepin in terms of overall taste and burn. A great balanced cigar!

Got a couple of samples from Al and WOW what a nice new smoke! Spicy and Pepin-like but with a darker, very complex flavor overall. Similar, but very different if that makes any sense. Made room for a box for the cabinet and I look forward to revisiting these after some down time in my humidor. Easy to recommend......

Cheers, guys - B.B.S.

I had a petit corona and I agree with you guys. It is quite good. I'll definitely need to get a box. Excellent job, Marc!

I received a Corona Gorda in a trade and finally got around to smoking it. What a great cigar!!! I also noted the Pepinesque taste in the beginning and thought it turned into a Tatuaje-like taste in the middle with a strong pepper finish. It wasn't too much pepper though and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I'm not sure of the price point on these but if it's anywhere near the DPG Blue pricing, it is a good buy IMO.

Mark says he is stocked one box of each size but I don't see them on his website @ TowerCigars.com. Silo Cigars has a couple of sizes with pricing and they are pretty reasonably priced. I highly suggest trying a sampler from either of these guys.
