On June 27, 1950, President Truman ordered the Air Force and Navy into the Korean War following a call from the United Nations Security Council for member nations to help South Korea repel an invasion from the North. A peace treaty has never been signed, only a cease fire. Total US theater casualties were 36,516 deaths and 92,134 wounded.

My uncle was one of the wounded in Korea.

Thanks for posting this, Ray. When all the conflicts and wars that the US has been involved in are mentioned, the Korean War seems to either be forgotten or barely mentioned. It seems like the most I ever hear about it is when someone is talking about M*A*S*H*.

A lot of good men sacrificed their lives over there. It's a shame that many times their sacrifices are forgotten.
