Thank you all for your kind words and condolences—they bring comfort in the wake of this tragic loss.
Michael was a spirited soul, always keeping you on your toes and quick with a laugh. Enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps at just 18 helped shape him into the man we came to admire. During his service, he played a key role in the success of the Toys for Tots campaign, dedicating several years to it and earning a well-deserved promotion. He also proudly served a tour in the Iraq War.
The photos shared here reflect his journey—from childhood through the many chapters of his life. After 21 years of service, Michael retired from the Marine Corps and found a new rhythm working at a local pub in New Orleans, where he became known as someone who could always share a good story, a laugh, and a drink among friends.
That’s how he’ll be remembered—with warmth, humor, and a generous spirit. Life is fleeting, and while we have the chance, let’s hold onto his memory and the joy he brought into our lives. Michael would want you to smile—just once, for old times’ sake.
