This poor kid is going to have some issues

seems we read the same news places. I just e-mailed that to my girlfriend (who has an allergy to pecans and allmonds) *Notice I didn't say nuts!* :D

That's tragic. Well, maybe not for Lumberg, but for everyone else.

My son has a really severe milk allergy. He breaks out in really bad hives if he even touches milk, or anything with milk or whey in it, such as butter, cheese, and anything with those ingredients. For example, my wife had just finished cleaning the steamer on the espresso machine, then was holding him with her hand across his face, and he broke out in a handprint shaped set of hives! Food allergies are a really serious problem that thankfully is starting to get more attention and consideration.

This is something I can relate to more than I would ever like. I was allergic to everything growing up. For over 10 years straight, I was getting 4 to 6 shots a week and missed more school than everyone in the school put together. Needless to say, I out grew most of them but one that I developed as a teenager was being allergic to milk and cheese. And to top it off, I'm allergic to what they treat reactions with. So I'm doubly screwed. My room mate in college almost knocked me off with just 2 Gold Fish crackers. He forgot I was allergic to cheese and he gives me 2 and I eat them. I loved them, but the next thing I know i was in trouble. The reaction took less than 15 seconds. My arms went completely red and felt like someone lit them on fire. That lasted about 2 hours. :( Over 7 years later, i can eat some Gold Fish and not worry to much on the advice of my Doctors.

Carefull read the opening of the article tho. It makes you wonder WTF they was thinking in the first place. "Christina Desforges died in a Quebec hospital Wednesday after doctors were unable to treat her allergic reaction to the kiss the previous weekend."

They waited nearly a week. WTF? I bet the parents dont make that same mistake again.
