Time for a new finish on an old humi

Monday I found an old humi at a second hand store. Looks like it will hold about 50 sticks and it had a great interior of Spanish Cedar. The exterior was all banged up and not even close to the light Oak that would match some of my other boxes. The seal is tight after doing the flash light test.

After sanding for the last three days it is time to give it a new finish.

I am on my way to Home Depot in the morning, My so called 100 is filled to capacity with 68 sticks, the coolidor is running over and the wife is pissed. It's time for more storage.

What type of stain should I use on the exterior that will not effect the interior?

I think about anything will work. Just keep it on the "outside" and let it dry well before you introduce your sticks. You should be fine.
