travel status in Florida?

Was thinking of coming down to see Universal studios and all of their haunted houses this month around the 11th or so.

Anyone know about the conditions of the parks. Hotels available? or are they refuges for storm stricken persons.

Is it worth the time and trouble to come down.
 
They are open...Parks are open and back on track...Hotels have space, though I would confirm your hotel choice prior to arrival as some did suffer some damage.

I strongly recommend booking directly with the hotel (ask for the front desk). I have had people come to Destin who were told by our local hotels that booking via hotels.com, orbitz.com, etc. will not be honored until things normalize. Currently, residents who have lost homes take precedents, then people who book direct, then if your lucky internet bookings...

Rob, the weather is great and as Brent stated, call the Hotels directly to confirm. Drop me a line when you know when you'll be here. We'll have to stop over at Universal's City Walk and grab a ceegar break at Cigarz...... :D :thumbs: :p
 
Sounds cool. I missed th TAA and LOL herf so I would love to ty and meet up with some folks down there. I'm thinking Monday the 11th on the city walk might work out ok.

We enjoyed a couple of hours of great ceegar smoking and conversation. Next time you come down, give us a little more heads up and so we can get a few of the other Florida brothers & sisters of the leaf together..... :D :thumbs: :p
Maybe you two can be the next to relocate to sunny central Florida. :0

Your right about that Ian. The wifey and myself went down yesterday to the New Smyrna Beach Jazz Festival and we couldn't have asked for better weather. This is our favorite time of the year down here till around mid March when the temps stay in the 80s and no hurricanes..... :D :thumbs: :p
